Paul Di Resta wins race 2 at Hockenheim

Paul Di Resta won race 2 at Hockenheim after an, for him, undramatic race.

The Scotsman led from start to finish in the 37 laps while Augusto Farfus finished 2nd ahead of Maxime Martin. Originally Timo Glock finished 2nd but he was disqualified for a technical infringement on his car.

It was a really tough battle during the first laps of the race. Jamie Green, Esteban Ocon and Bruno Spengler had a fight that ended up with 2 stranded cars and the need for a safety car.

Shortly after the race was released again, Mattias Ekström sustained damage to his car, that he later had to retire. Also Antonio Felix Da Costa, Timo Scheider and Miguel Molina had to retire due to contact.

After the race there were critical words from several drivers, thinking that there had been way too much contact this weekend. They asked the stewards to be more strict about handing out penalties – something that wasn’t done at all this weekend. Otherwise they fear that it will only get worse (and more expensive) during the year, if there’s no firm line instantly.

Next race will be held at Red Bull Ring in Austria, on May 20th-22nd.
