Porsche has taken the provisional Pole Position at Le Mans.
Car number 2 was faster than car number 1, but it was Toyota who started out setting a super time. But both Porsches was able to beat both Toyotas, while Audi finished only 5th and 6th.
In LMP2 we saw G-Drive ORECA #26 leading Baxi DC Racing Alpine #35.
GTE-Pro was the expected war between Ferrari and Ford. Times were constantly bettered and ended with 2 Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA GT vars ahead of AF Corse #51 and the two Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK cars. Best non-Ferrari and non-Ford was Porsche #92 who was almost 4 seconds slower than the pole time.
In GTE-Am it was Clearwater Racing #61 that was the fastest car ahead of Aston Martin Racing #98.
Corvette has a lot of catching up to do. In GTE-Pro they are almost 5 seconds behind Pole Position and in GTE-Am they are just 1,2 seconds off Pole Position.
Lets see what the weather brings tomorrow, to see if this is the final grid or there are more improvements to do.
Personally I hope for dry, so we will see that sub-3,50 lap that’s hidden in at least the Ford, if not the Ferrari as well.
