Portuguese driver António Félix da Costa will be piloting the No. 28 MS Amlin Andretti car for Season Three.
The relationship between Félix da Costa and the global insurance company MS Amlin has been renewed. “We are delighted to have António back driving for our team. He proved to be a favourite with the fans and a winner in Season One. We’re excited to see him racing in the MS Amlin colours”, said MS Amlin CEO Charles Philipps.
Félix da Costa claimed his maiden Formula E victory in Buenos Aires in the first Formula E season in January 2015. He finished eighth overall in the driver standings at the end of the 2014/2015 season and – despite a difficult period – 13th in the overall rankings of the 2015/2016 season.
“I have always loved the way Americans go racing, and how they do sports in general. I’m a big fan of IndyCar and, to me, Andretti Autosport has always been an iconic team. To finally be able to say that I’m joining and racing for this amazing team and family is a big deal”, explained Félix da Costa.
The 24-year-old prepared for the coming season by turning laps with Andretti Technologies in the TE Connectivity ATEC-002 Formula E test car and added “I’m ready to get the season started.”
Félix da Costa will be joining Dutchman Robin Frijns, completing the Andretti Formula E two-car effort for the 2016/2017 season. Season Three of the FIA Formula E Championship begins on October 9th on the streets of Hong Kong (CN).
