Anthony Davidson and Benoit Treluyer will miss Mexico

Toyota Gazoo Racing driver Anthony Davidson and Audi Sport Team Joest driver Benoit Treluyer will miss the FIA World Endurance Championship race in Mexico.

Brit Davidson had a testing accident for the FIA WEC team at Magny Cours, and here he injured his ribs. After having been back in the car on Thursday in Mexico, he has chosen to sit out the race due to too much pain.

Therefore Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima will do the 6 hours alone in the Toyota Gazoo Racing #5.

The same thing will be seen in Audi Sport Team Joest #7, where Benoit Treluyer has to miss his second race in a row. He had a crash on his mountain bike early July, and following that had to miss the 6 hours race at Nürburgring. After Thursday and Friday practice in Mexico, he decided, in consultation with the Audi doctors, to miss this round too. That means Andre Lotterer and Marcel Fässler will get extra driving time behind the wheel this weekend.

That was be a very difficult thing for both teams since the track is located above 2000 meters altitude, and that means an extra physical stress on the body, on the already demanding circuit.

The race will start tomorrow Saturday at 20.30 CET.
