Marco Wittmann won comfortably

Marco Wittmann won saturdays race at the Nürburgring comfortably.

The BMW driver led the race from start to finish and was never really under pressure.

Behind him we saw a lot of fights. Once again there was a lot of hard driving, and especially 2 minutes halfway through the race, had a lot of action.

Edoardo Mortara started with a hopeless dive on Tom Blomqvist, that send both cars through the chicane. After this he let Blomqvist past again. At the end of the straight, Mortara dived again and once again made contact between the 2 cars. That allowed Bruno Spengler and Daniel Juncadella to catch up with these 2, and then ended up colliding with each other.

On the same lap we saw a collision between Timo Scheider and Gary Paffett, and the former was awarded a drive-through for that.

Shortly after Mattias Ekström and Maximilian Götz made contact, after Götz tried to squeeze the Swede on the grass. There was contact but both could finish the race.

There was a lot of other contacts during the race, which left a lot of debris around the track.

The race finished with Marco Wittmann ahead of Tom Blomqvist and Jamie Green, who made a last lap pass on Edoardo Mortara.
