Mahindra Racing ready for the start of the season

Mahindra Racing is ready for the start of Season 3 in the FIA Formula E Championship this coming weekend.

Nick Heidfeld and Felix Rosenqvist are the 2 drivers for the team this season, where Heidfeld is the experienced driver in the team, as he starts his second season for the Indian team. Rosenqvist is brand new in the team and in Formula E in general, so he has a lot to learn this season.

The team has already done 4100 km preseason testing with the new M3Electro. 2200 km of the tests were run in Spain throughout July during 15 days. The rest 1900km were run during the 6 days of Official testing at Donington Park.

The season start will take place in Hong Kong, which is a brand new circuit on the Formula E calendar. Just like all the other tracks on the calendar, it’s a street circuit, where some public roads are blinded of and transformed to a race circuit with concrete blocks and safety fences surrounding it.

The Hong Kong track will have the yet longest straight in the Formula E Championship history. 555 meters are part of the 1,86 km long circuit.

The car will be lighter since the minimum weight throughout the Championship has been reduced to 880 kg plus there is a new front wing and it’s allowed to regenerate 50% more power under braking.

The race will start on Sunday morning 3.00am CET
