Alice Powell and Tom Coronel are the next two drivers who are ready for the new Electric GT Championship.
Both drivers were testing the Tesla Model S car a few weeks ago, at the same occasion as Heinz-Harald Frentzen had a test-drive.
Powell is 23 years old and lives in Oxford in England. She won the Formula Renault 2.0 BARC Championship in 2010 and has since then participated in GP3 in 2012, where she was the first female driver to score a point. Then she went on to finish runner-up in the Formula 3 Cup in 2013 in Great Britain, before she went on the win the Asian Formula Renault Series in 2014. Her career has been quite a stop-n-go because of the lack of sponsors, even though she is one of the fastest females out there in top motorsport.
Coronel is best know for all his years in WTCC, but before that he has raced a lot of stuff like German Formula 3, Japanese Formula 3, before he won the Formula Nippon title in 1999. Since then he has been focusing more on Touring cars but has had a few starts at other races like the 24 hours of Le Mans. He has participated in the Dakar Rally a few times, where he has been teamed with his twin brother Tim in either the same car, or as teammates in 2 identical Buggies.
