The TCR cars spread themselves over the world like a bushfire.
Other than the international series that started in 2015, there are plenty of regional series all over the world, and next year the Swedish STCC goes for that car model too.
Now the popular car type get their own division at the VLN races at the Nordschleife. At the season finale we saw the first version of Audi Sport’s new TCR RS 3 LMS race car.
We have seen a German version of the TCR series in the shape of ADAC TCR Germany, where there were up to 27 starting drivers.
We have seen some other TCR cars at the start in VLN this year. So far they had to participate in the SP3T division for cars up to 2 litres with turbo. Among the teams that we have seen this year are Aimpoint Racing (Seat Leon Cup Racer), Kissling Motorsport (Opel Astra TCR), Lubner Motorsport (Honda Civic Type R TCR), Mathilda Racing (Seat Leon TCR) – and then the latest addition with Phoenix Racing and a Audi RS 3 LMS.
We have seen TCR cars at the 24 Hours of Dubai and some of the other Creventic races held around Europe.
VLN hasn’t announced their 2017 calendar yet, but traditionally it starts at end March/early April.
