ADAC ready with the GT Masters and F4 calendars

ADAC Motorsport are ready with their GT Masters and F4 calendars for 2017.

The calendar will have a very familiar look to the 2016 calendar with the exact same venues, just a bit of shuffling.

On 6 of the 7 weekends we will have all three series racing together. Only the Zandvoort race will be stand-alone for GT Masters, whereas Formula 4 have two weekends racing at Oschersleben.

The Zandvoort date is a date clash with FIA WEC at the Nürburgring on the same weekend, which might cause some problems for some teams.

Both series will be shown live on Sport1 in Germany, and most likely on live streaming via ADAC-Motorsport.de as well.

ADAC GT Masters has no major rule changes, but Formula 4 does have a quite significant one. For the 2016 season there were talks of more than 45 cars entering the series. Therefore the series decided to split the qualifying and do a qualifying race due to a maximum limit of 35 cars on some of the circuits that the series visited. However it turned out that there were rarely more than 35-37 starting drivers for the weekends anyway, and only a few cars had to be sent home, with unhappy drivers at the expense. Now everybody is allowed to participate for the whole weekend included the 3 races – subjected to meeting qualification minimum time of course.
