Jan Lammers returns to Le Mans

Jan Lammers returns to the right Le Mans race in 2017.

Together with Racing Team Nederland, the Le Mans winner from 1988 for Jaguar will compete in the LMP2 class with former Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello and the Dutch merchand and hobby driver Frits Van Eerd. They’ll not only drive in the 24 hours race, but also the whole European Le Mans Series.

Lammers and Eerd participated in Road To Le Mans before the big race in i 2016, in an LMP3 car, but last autumn the team bought a brand new Dallara P217 Gibson. They have tested the car a lot, in a Dunlop tyre test at Sebring amongst others, where Barrichello got his first kilometre with the team.

At the moment, the team is at Paul Ricard for another test, so it looks like they are well prepared for the 2017 season.

Their start number will be 29, and they will fight against 12 other LMP2 cars in the i ELMS and 24 cars at the 24 hours race at Le Mans.

The first time the team will on the track against all the other competitors is at 29 of March on the official ELMS test at Monza.
