Jonathan Hirschi will be driving for CEFC Manor TRS Racing in FIA WEC 2017.
The Swiss racing driver returns to Le Mans for the first time since 2013, for his now 5th Le Mans race. He has done rally before, but lately he has done both European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series.
With today’s announcement the team only needs two more driver to have a complete line-up. Tor Graves, Simon Trummer and Roberto Gonzalez have previously been announced during the last few weeks.
Hirschi is a gold rated driver in the FIA driver ranking. As well as Trummer, while Graves and Gonzalez are silver. It will be interesting to see if the team goes for two more gold or platinum drivers, or opts for one or more silver drivers for the team. The rules state that there has to be at least one silver driver in every LMP2 car, but the team hasn’t yet announced the driver pairings for the two cars .
The FIA WEC season starts with the Prologue on April 1st and 2nd at Monza, 14 days prior to the first race weekend at Silverstone.
