STARD enters the FIA World Rallycross Championship

The STARD team enters the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Latvian Janis Baumanis and Russian Timur Timerzyanov will be driving for the team, led by Manfred Stohl.

STARD has developed the FIA Fiesta RXS Supercars that World RX Team Austria utilized so far, and it was through that team that the three guys got to know each other. Stohl was driving for the team himself, and before that he was a WRC driver for many years.

Baumanis has done two season in FIA World Rallycross Championship, where he reached several top 10 results. He carries a European Title in S1600 in his baggage – a title that he won in 2015 in a Renault Twingo. 2016 was the first full season for him in the Supercar category.

Timerzyanov is a double European Champion in Supercar in 2012 and 2013. In 2014 he advanced into Team Peugeot-Hansen, where he participated for a full season and gained a single podium. The 2015 season didn’t give him any podiums, but in 2016 he was back on it again – this time for World RX Team Austria.

The team is busy updating the cars, so the 2017 season will be tackled with two Ford Fiesta RXS Evo 3 cars.
