Dempsey-Proton Racing with two new and one experienced driver

Dempsey-Proton Racing has announced their 2017 driver line-up.

The FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Am team with number 77 on the car will have Christian Ried, Matteo Cairoli, and Marvin Dienst behind the wheel.

Christian Ried is part-owner of the team, so he is secured every seat that he wants, but he has chosen to have new co-drivers.

Matteo Cairoli finished second in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and has shown impressive speed even though he’s only 20 years old. Now he will be driving in the most prestigious GT Championship in the world.

Marvin Dienst won the ADAC Formula 4 Championship in 2015, before he participated in ADAC GT Masters in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for bigFM Racing Team Schütz Motorsport, where he finished 14th in the Championship. The Porsche cars had a hard time in that particular championship, and especially that team had many difficulties. But with a ADAC Formula 4 Championship on his CV, 20 year old Dienst has already proven his speed.

The team hasn’t announced if they will race with a 2015 or 2016 version of the car. That is still open, since both models are allowed in the FIA WEC GTE-Am Championship.

The first official appearance of the new driver line-up will be a the Prologue at Monza in the first weekend of April.
