HTP Motorsportare going young in their second car in ADAC GT Masters.
22 year-old Marvin Kirchhöfer and 24 year-old Indy Dontje will be driving the yellow and green Mercedes-AMG GT3 with number 48 on its side.
The team has already announced Maximilian Götz and Patrick Assenheimer in their other car with number 84.
Kirchhöfer and Dontje have been teammates before. In 2012 they were in the same team in ADAC Formula Masters. Kirchhöfer won the title and went on to do the German Formula 3-Cup before he drove in GP3 for ART Grand Prix for two seasons. In 2016 he participated in GP2 for Carlin. The highlight of the season was a second position in Monaco, but otherwise he spent most of the year outside top 10. Now he wants to try out GT racing.
Dontje is the most experienced GT guy of the two. After finished third in the German Formula 3-Cup in 2014, he went into cars with roof on. He has done numerous races in Porsche, Mercedes and BMW cars. Often it has been Endurance races, so it’s a bit of a new experience to “only” do about half an hour before he receives or has to pass on the car to his teammate.
ADAC GT Masters powers up the last weekend of April at Oschersleben.
