The former Formula 1 driver Esteban Gutierrez is the new driver at Techeetah in the FIA Formula E Championship.
The Mexican was already announced as to drive in the Formula E series a few months back, but it hasn’t been until now that it was announced which team he will drive for.
He replaces Ma Qing Hua, who will remain as the third driver in the Chinese team.

The team, who get their driveline from Renault e-DAMS, is currently in their debut season. In Argentina they scored their first podium with Jean-Eric Vergne behind the wheel, while Chinese Ma has spend his time at the back of the field. So perhaps the team has seen that the car has a potential to be a lot faster, if they had another driver in the car.
The next time that the FIA Formula E Championship will be back on the track is in 1½ weeks, when the series visit the home country of Gutierrez: Mexico.
