Petrov final driver at Manor

Vitaly Petrov is the sixth and final driver at CEFC Manor TRS Racing in LMP2 for the FIA WEC.

The 32 year-old Russian drove for SMP Racing in 2016, but since they have opted not to enter this year, he has chosen to drive for Manor. He has a bit of Russian Rubles in his back pocket with sponsors like SMP, that the team for sure will like, too.

Petrov has driven sportscars for a few years now. The first time he got a taste of it was in 2007 when he drove the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Noel Del Bello Racing, before he continued his single seater road into three seasons of Formula 1. He had one season in DTM for Mercedes before going to SMP Racing in 2016.

He will be in car number 25 alongside Roberto Gonzalez and Simon Trummer. In car 24 we will have Jean-Eric Vergne, Tor Graves, and Jonathan Hirschi.
