Double Pole for Toyota

It was a double Pole Position for Toyota Gazoo Racing, when the qualifying for the opening round of FIA WEC 2017 was run at Silverstone.

The German/Japanese team managed to get Kamui Kobayashi and Mike Conway to do the fastest lap, followed by Anthony Davidson and Kazuki Nakajima in the #8. Those are followed by Porsche #1 and #2, while ByKolles Racing Team drove their best lap of the weekend but still a bit further away from the works teams.

Alex Lynn and Pierre Thieriet drove the fastest LMP2 average for G-Drive Racing #26, followed by Signatech Alpine Matmut #36 with Nicolas Lapierre and Matt Rao behind the wheel. Jackie Chan DC Racing #38 with Oliver Jarvis and Thomas Laurant finished off by being third.

GTE Pro is lead by Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK #67 with the two local heroes Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx. Especially Priaulx did an amazing lap that was more than one second faster than any other driver in the category. AF Corse #71 with Davide Rigon and Sam Bird will start in P2 while AMR #95 with Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen managed to do the the third fastest. Porsche couldn’t followed that pace and ended up being 7th and 8th.

Pedro Lamy and Paul Dalla Lana secured Pole Position for the AMR #98 in GTE Am, with more than a second down to P2 with Spirit of Race Ferrari #54, who had Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr as drivers.

The 6-hour race will start tomorrow at 12.00 local time, where there will be a guarantee of a lot of duels within all the categories.
