ADAC GT Masters are ready for their second round of the year. It will be run at Lausitzring, located in the former East Germany on the highway between Berlin and Dresden.
At the opening round at Oschersleben we saw a Saturday dominated by Porsche having a 1-2 in both qualifying and the race, while BMW and Corvette joined the top for the Sunday’s qualifying.
It was KÜS Team75 Bernhard #17 with Michael Ammermüller and Mathieu Jaminet, who was the quickest combination on Saturday in both qualifying and race, while BMW Team Schnitzer #42 with Ricky Collard and Philipp Eng took both Pole Position and the victory in Sunday’s race.
The results from that weekend means BMW Team Schnitzer #42 leads the Championship with KÜS Team75 Bernhard #17 second, only one point behind the leader.
ADAC GT Masters has participated at Lausitzring 10 times since the series started in 2007. In those 20 races, we have seen 10 different winning teams. Porsche is the most winning with victories while Corvette has four and Mercedes three. Sebastian Asch, Christian Engelhart, Daniel Keilwitz, and Robert Renauer are the most successful drivers currently in the field with two victories each at that circuit.
Other than ADAC GT Masters we have DTM running, too, so there will be plenty for the spectators to enjoy.
