ByKolles Racing Team has to change their driver lineup for the test day this Sunday and for the 24 Hour race itself.
Oliver Webb, Dominik Kraihamer, and James Rossiter were originally announced for the car, just like they had been for the first two rounds of the FIA WEC, but the latter has been called to Japan by his regular team in SuperGT, Toyota. They have an important test during the Le Mans week, and they absolute want their driver there, now that they’d already allowed their drivers participating for Toyota Gazoo Racing, to go and do their job in France.
His seat in the CLM P1/01 Nissan car will be taken by Marco Bonanomi. Bonanomi is a former works drivers for Audi Sport in their LMP1 programme, and has raced at Le Mans, too. For a lot of years he was a reserve driver at Audi Sport, and spent a lot of time together with his Italian compatriot, Dindo Capello, and his teammates Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen.
Bonanomi was in the car for the first time during a test last week, where ByKolles tested at Spa Francorchamps together with many other WEC teams, and the parties quickly found each other, and continue working together at Le Mans.
The Le Mans test day will be run this Sunday from 9.00 CET.
