Date for N24 2018 announced

The 46th edition of The ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen will be held on May 10th-13th 2018. That has been announced by the organizers today.

It will be held over the Ascension Weekend and will hopefully bring extra spectators to the track, and furthermore will make it easier to get the many corner workers that is needed for such an event.

The race is going to be a few weeks earlier than previous years, but N24 has a tradition of running at many different dates. Sometimes it has been late June or early July.

159 cars took the start this year, where Audi Sport Team Land #29 won overall with their Audi R8 LMS GT3, but Mercedes, BMW and Porsche has also been victorious during the last 6 years.

BMW has the most overall victories in the race with 19 wins, ahead of Porsche with 11, Ford with 5, Audi with 4, Chrysler with 3, Mercedes with two and a single win for Opel.

Bentley was quite close in the 2017 edition, and Ferrari has started to show interest in the race. Honda will most likely arrive with their new NSX GT3 car, just like Lexus has started to do something too. There has been a Lexus GT3 car parked in the Ring Boulevard shopping centre at the track for the last few months, so it appears that they are also working on something for a 2018 entry.
