The official test days ahead of Season 4 in FIA Formula E Championship will start in the first weekend of October.
October 2, 3, and 5 will see all the Formula E teams testing at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, which is also known as a MotoGP racing venue and a former Formula One testing track.
It will be the 3,09 kilometres configuration of the track that will be used for this test, with an extra chicane added to the start-finish straight. The test sessions each day will be split into a morning session from 9 to 12 and an afternoon session from 14 to 17.
All the Formula E teams have already been testing individually, but there are strict restrictions on the amount of days that they are allowed to test the cars. So every possibility to test the car has a bit of value to the teams. That is why there is a break before the last day of the test, in case one of the teams should run into troubles in one of the first days, and then having to get some new parts transported to Valencia. That would be a lot hard with three days in a row.
The FIA Formula E Championship 2017/18 season starts on December 2-3 in Hong Kong.
