Silverstone is back on the provisional FIA World Endurance Championship calendar for the 2018/19 season.
There as a lot of protests from the British fans, when the first calendar was released without Silverstone less than three weeks ago, but there was still an TBA date in February.
The WEC organisation couldn’t get a deal for another racing at that time of the year, so instead they decided to make a deal, in a weekend that will most likely team up with ELMS, like we have known from previous years.
The new thing is that the race will be in August, instead of the April date, which often brought bad weather – in fact it was snowing at the race in 2016!
The date for the 2018 event will be August 19th.
That make the 2018/19 complete, but still subject to final confirmation from the FIA World Motorsport Council.
