The FIA World Motor Sport Council had a meeting today, and they made some changes to the recently announced calendar of FIA Formula E.
The original plan was to hold the inaugural ePrix in Sao Paulo in March 2018, but the FIA has chosen to replace that event with Punta del Este in Uruguay.
Punta del Este was a part of the Formula E calendar for the first two seasons and makes its return to the calendar now.
The change is most likely to happen because of the safety issues during this years Formula 1 race in Sao Paulo, where several teams were attacked and robbed on the way from the track to their hotels.
The 6th round of this years FIA Formula E Championship will be run in Punta del Este on 17 March.
