Müller and de Vries in Formula E test

Nico Müller and Nyck de Vries will get an opportunity that many other drivers might dream a lot about.

The two will have the opportunity on 14 January to test the two Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler Audi e-tron FE04 biler, when the Rookie-test is run in Marrakesh, on the day following the third round of the FIA Formula E Championship 2017/18 has been run.

22 year-old Nyck de Vries normally races in the Formula 2 Championship, while 26 year-old Nico Müller primarily is a DTM driver.

Müller has however driven nearly everything else that Audi is racing during 2017. He has run in the FIA World Rallycross Championship at selected rounds for the EKS team in an Audi S1 WRX, and he has driven the Nürburgring and Spa 24 Hours races in an Audi R8 LMS.

The team usually has Lucas Di Grassi and Daniel Abt running in the FIA Formula E Championship, but the Sunday test in Marrakesh in only for drivers who hasn’t raced in the electric series. It is the electric equivalent to the Young driver test that Formula 1 is having each year, following the season in Abu Dhabi. Only difference is that this is happening in the middle of the season, prior to the cars being shipped to South America for Round 4-6 in Santiago, Chile – Mexico City, Mexico og Punta del Este, Uruguay receptively.
