Scuderia Corsa will enter two cars in the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup rounds of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2018.
In addition to Alessandro Balzan and Cooper MacNeil in the Ferrari 488 GT3 #63 throughout the full IMSA season, the team will enter an additional #64 for the 24 Hours of Daytona, Sebring 12 Hours, Watkins Glen 6 Hours, and the 10 hours race at Petit Le Mans.
Townsend Bell, Bill Sweedler, and Frankie Montecalvo will drive the car for all four rounds, while Sam Bird will join in as a fourth driver at Daytona.
Bell and Sweedler already have good memories with the team, since they took the GTD title in 2015, and went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 in the GTE-Am category.
Sam Bird was part of the #63 team at 2017 edition of the Daytona 24 Hours, where he was teamed up with Alessandro Balzan, Matteo Cressoni, and Christina Nielsen and led the race until a mechanical issue took them out of the race shortly before the finish. So he’s going for redemption in 2018.
Frankie Montecalvo is new to the team, but he has plenty of experience from FIA WEC, Le Mans and Daytona to name just a few things of what the 26 year-old driver already has participated in.
There are no news yet about the name of the drivers supporting Balzan and MacNeil in #63 during the Daytona 24 Hours, which will be run on 27-28 January.
