The prancing horse returns to the ADAC GT Masters in 2018.
HB Racing has just announced that they will enter at least one, but hopefully two Ferrari 488 GT3 cars in the coming season.
The team will work closely together with Rinaldi Racing, who has great experience in the Italian brand. Rinaldi Racing were the ones who were behind the two-car effort for Scuderia Corsa at last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, among many other things, as well as travelling the world and running or supporting other GT3 teams.
Team boss. Andreas Fuchs isn’t ready to put name on the first two drivers just yet, but he says that the contracts are very close at being signed with two very professional drivers – so it will be very interesting to see who they are. Ferrari have about a dozen of works drivers, who travels the world to drive in GT racing, and they are always ready to send a driver, if a privateer needs one to guide some gentlemen drivers.
It is the first time since 2012, that a Ferrari participates in the ADAC GT Masters. Back then it was Farnbacher ESET Racing with a 458 Italia GT3 during the first three rounds of the championship, before going with a Porsche instead.

HB Racing has been running Lamborghini Huracan GT3s lately, but the team has been plagued by technical issues over and over again, and that is the reason for the change of brand, according to team boss Dietmar Hirsch. The Ferrari 488 GT3 is one of the most reliable cars wherever it races around the world, and it has already won several championships, like for instance with the Scuderia Corsa team in the IMSA Championship in the USA.
Ferrari will make a small update for the car ahead of the 2018 season, with small changes to the bodywork and the 3,9 litre turbo engine.
The first race weekend in the ADAC GT Masters will be run at Oschersleben on 13-15 April.
