Colombian Oscar Tunjo will be the next new driver, to compete in the ADAC GT Masters.
Tunjo has signed a contract with Phoenix Racing and will participate in the German GT3 series with an Audi R8 LMS GT3 car.
The team hasn’t got the teammate to the 21 year old driver ready to announce quite yet.
Tunjo primarily has experience from single-seaters like Formual Renault 3,5 and GP3. During the 2017 season he got a roof over his head, when he competed in the Special Tourenwagen Trophy, where he ended up winning the Championship after clinching 10 out of 14 possible victories during the season. He was behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG GT3, so it won’t quite be the same car, although it’s still a GT3 car.
Other than the ADAC GT Masters, he will run selected VLN races for the Phoenix Racing team, and there might be a Nürburgring 24 Hours race on the horizon, but the team isn’t ready to confirm that quite yet.
The ADAC GT Masters season will start in Oschersleben on 13-15 April, with the mandatory test days running two and a half weeks prior to that, at the same circuit.
