Brothers starting at Daytona

When the ROAR test ahead of the Daytona 24 Hours starts this Friday, two brothers will share one of the race cars.

Big brother Kelvin van der Linde will have smaller brother Sheldon in the white and green Montaplast by Land-Motorsport Audi R8 LMS #29, while they will be joined by the two Audi experts Christopher Mies and Jeffrey Schmidt.

The team had their debut at the Daytona track in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2017, where they finished second, only 0,293 of a second from the win in the GTD category.

The team was back in the USA for Petit Le Mans in October, where they completed an amazing task. The day started out with a victory in the DMV GTC race at Hockenheim. A few hours later, the team won the VLN round at the Nürburgring too, and finished it off by winning the 10 hours of Petit Le Mans.

Peggy Sue, which is the name the team has given to the car for Daytona 2018, is the same car that took the win at Petit Le Mans 2017. All four drivers are well known by Land Motorsport, but they haven’t been in the same car all together before. Mies and Sheldon van der Linde were among the winning combo at Petit Le Mans.

The test drives will start on Friday and finish on Sunday, before the 24 hours race will be run on 27-28 January.
