Dragon Racing has the replacement for Neel Jani in the FIA Formula E Championship ready.
Argentinian Jose Maria Lopez, who drove for the DS Virgin Racing team during the 2016/17 season, will run the rest of the season for the American outfit.
Jani announced earlier this week, that he would no longer drive for the team, but there wasn’t any official word from the team. The rumours about Lopez quickly started afterwards, but it wasn’t until today, that it was confirmed.

Lopez finished on the podium twice in his rookie season in the Formula E, but he was generally lacking pace compared to his previous teammate, Sam Bird. Hi did finish several places ahead of his brand new teammate, Jerome D’Ambrosio. So that will be an interesting fight to follow.
The third round of the 2017/18 FIA Formula Championship season will be run next weekend in Marrakesh, Morocco.
