Russian starts for Phoenix Racing

Russian Ivan Lukashevich will be the fourth and final driver at Phoenix Racing in the upcoming ADAC GT Masters season.

The 26 year-old will be paired up with Oscar Tunjo in the blue Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 with number 6 on the door.

Lukashevich started in karting when he was young. He entered the brand new GP3 series back in 2010, and has since then done various touring car and GT racing, with some of them being run back in Russia.

So that makes it clear that Phoenix Racing will enter a young team this year, where they probably will look more at driver development rather than actual title contenders. But sometimes surprises happen, and if everything goes their way, there are opportunities for Tunjo/Lukashevich or Ellis/Hofer in the second Audi, so run near the top of the races.

The team will run in the coming week at Oschersleben, where the official test sessions will be run, ahead of the ADAC GT Masters season starts at the same circuit on 13-15 April.
