BWT Mücke Motorsport with a triple

BWT Mücke Motorsport are ready for the ADAC GT Masters 2018 with three identical cars.

The team has traditionally been a Mercedes team, but two Audi R8 LMS cars sneaked into the workshop in 2017 for their ADAC GT Masters season and selected VLN rounds.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 has been pushed aside this year, and instead the team has opted to run a third Audi.

Stefen Mücke will share one of the cars with Jeffrey Schmidt, who drove for Montaplast by Land Motorsport last year. There will be some races, where Mücke can’t compete due to his FIA WEC commitment with Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK, but Audi works drivers Jamie Green will join Schmidt for those rounds.

Christopher Haase will share the other car with Ricardo Feller. Haase is another former Montaplast by Land Motorsport driver, while Ricardo Feller drove for Audi Sport racing academy in 2017. Haase is actually the first ADAC GT Masters Champion back in 2007, so he has a lot of knowledge to share with only 17 years old Swiss driver.

The third car will be driven by Markus Winkelhock and Mike David Ortmann. Both drivers were part of BWT Mücke Motorsport in 2017, but raced in each their own Audi.

That means that the team goes for an “old” and a young driver in each of the cars, and there is no clear favourite amongst those cars, but all three combos appear quite equal.

Mücke/Schmidt will drive the pink #26, Haase/Feller the other pink #25, while Winkelhock/Ortmann will be piloting the orange kfzteile24 sponsored Audi R8 LMS GT3.

So all is set at the team, ahead of the test sessions this coming week in Oschersleben.
