Nasr new ELMS driver

Felipe Nasr will be a new driver in the European Le Mans Series, when the second round is run at Monza in two weeks’ time.

The plan is for the Brazilian to do the rest of the ELMS season plus the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the Cetilar Villorba Corsa outfit in LMP2.

He will replace Andrea Belicchi, who had some back issues during the 4 Hours of Paul Ricard earlier this month.

Nasr already tested for the team back in November, where he helped them out with some set-up work.

Felipe is driving for Whelen Engineering Cadillac #31 in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, where the Cadillac is based on the same Dallara LMP2 chassis, which is used by Cetilar Villorba Corsa among others.

He already knows Monza, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone and Spa Francorchamps from his Formula 1 days, while Le Mans and Portimao will be new to him.

The team finished on a disappointing 14th during the opening round at Paul Ricard, so Nasr can hopefully bring a bit of extra speed into the car.

The next round of the European Le Mans Series will be run on 13. May at Monza in Italy.
