Race full of action in Most

The sun was out once again for the 4th round of the ADAC GT Masters, which was run on the Czech race track Most.

Maximilian Götz in the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport #47 had taken Pole Position ahead of Daniel Keilwitz in the Callaway Competition Corvette #1 and Clemens Schmid in the AutoArenA Motorsport Mercedes #84.

There were troubles again in Turn 1, where KÜS Team75 Bernhard #17 driven by Kevin Estre was turned around by one of the EFP by TECE Audi cars.

Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing Mercedes #21 with Luca Stolz was hit by Montaplast by Land-Motorsport #29. EFP by TECE Audi #12 was unlucky to hit the Mercedes when it rolled backwards. #21 had to pull out of the race due to all the damage.

The other EFP by TECE Audi #11 also retired on the first lap. So just like the race yesterday, both EFP by TECE cars were out on the first lap.

All those trouble sent out the Safety Car to get all the mess cleared up.

That took almost 10 minutes to get everything cleaned up.

Frank Stippler in the Team ISR Audi #33 outbraked himself in Turn 1, while he was in a battle with Luca Ludwig in the HB Racing Ferrari #7. But he did manage to get into the same position again, so nothing was lost.

Timo Scheider in #42 received a drive-through penalty for having made a pass under Safety Car. But the BMW Team Schnitzer car was far from the points anyway.

AutoArenA Motorsport Mercedes #84 spun all by itself, and was blocking the road, but luckily all the drivers running behind it was fast enough to avoid the car.

Aust Motorsport Audi #3 and Team Rosberg Lamborghini #35 made a contact in Turn 1, where #35 was turned around by #3. A really bad day for Team Rosberg, who had blown an engine earlier in the day on their #53 car. #3 got a drive-through penalty for the incident. But #35 itself ended up being thrown out of the race, since Jimmy Eriksson had run several meters against oncoming traffic, to get the car turned around.

But out front we still had #47 ahead of #1 and #48, before the pitstops started.

YACO Racing Audi #50 with Philip Geipel and Rahel Frey got their pitstop timed wrong, so they went below the minimum time by just 0,1 of a second! That gave them a drive-through penalty.

Indy Dontje and Maximilian Buhk in the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport #48 made the same mistake, also receiving a drive-through, ending all hopes of a podium for them.

But the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport #47 was still leading after the pitstops, ahead of the Callaway Competition Corvette #1 and Precote Herberth Motorsport Porsche #99. So just like yesterday, the #99 was the big winner of the pitstops.

Nikolaj Rogivue in the Aust Motorsport #3 had a solo spin, but he was quickly heading in the right direction again.

Kim Luis Schramm had received the Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing Mercedes #20 in 8th from Nicolai Sylvest, so the young Dane had once again showed impressive speed, having started in P16,

ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser Lamborghini #63 tried to get past the BWT Mücke Motorsport Audi #24, but that didn’t happen even though Mirko Bortolotti was trying everything.

Mikkel Jensen had taken the BMW Team Schnitzer #42 all the way up to P23 with impressive speed. He was more than a second faster than the drivers around him, so he was aiming at more gains.

Kim Luis Schramm in #20 was hit from behind by the Montaplast by Land-Motorsport #28, which resulted in a puncture for the Mercedes. That was the end to his race, especially for Sylvest, after his impressive stint at the start of the race.

The race was won by Markus Pommer and Maximilian Götz in the MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport Mercedes #47, ahead of the Callaway Competition Corvette #1, and the Precote Herberth Motorsport Porsche #99. So #1 and #99 could be very happy about the weekend, ending both races on the podium, which is very unusual in ADAC GT Masters.

HB Racing Ferrari #7 and local heroes Team ISR Audi #33 completed the top 5, making it five different brands. MRS GT-Racing BMW #14 was once again the BMW in P10, while ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser Lamborghini #63 was the best Italian bull. Honda Team Schubert Motorsport #19 was all the way back in P19.

Robert Renauer and Mathieu Jaminet in #99 still lead the Drivers Championship while Markus Pommer and Maximilian Götz in #47 are P2, only one point ahead of Daniel Keilwitz and Marvin Kirchhöfer in the #1.

MANN-FILTER Team HTP Motorsport leads the Teams Championship ahead of Precote Herberth Motorsport and BWT Mücke Motorsport.

The ADAC GT Masters will have a small break for a month, until the series travels to the Red Bull Ring in Austria from 8 to 10 June.
