All cars on track in FP3

All 34 FIA World Endurance Championship cars were on the track, when the third free practice was run at Silverstone this morning.

Rebellion Racing #1 and ByKolles Racing Team #4 had both been repaired yesterday afternoon and evening, and were ready to go again.

Toyota Gazoo Racing #8 was the fastest car, while SMP Racing #17 and #11 were the next in line. The remaining LMP1 cars all did focus on race setup, so there were big differences in the laptimes compared to yesterday. Strange things would have to happen for Toyota not to take 1-2 on the start grid later today. But anything can happen in motorsport.

TDS Racing #28 was once again fastest in the LMP2 category, while Jackie Chan DC Racing #37 had found more speed overnight, and sneaked in ahead of the sister car #38 in P3.

GTE Pro had Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK 1-2 with #67 ahead of #66, while Aston Martin Racing #95 with Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen continued the good impressions from yesterday with P3. BMW was fast in the category early on, but fell back to P7 and P9 after the 57 minutes of running. The practice was cut 3 minutes short due to a loose bollard on track, resulting in a red flag.

Aston Martin Racing #98 was the fastest in GTE Am in front of MR Racing Ferrari #70 and Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche #77. The first 6 cars were separated by just 0,9 of a second, so it’s as close as always in GTE Am. Usually the Bronze rated driver has a huge influence on who wins the race, nonetheless on who takes Pole Position, since the Bronze rated driver has to be one of the two qualifying drivers.
