Sato extends with RLL

Takuma Sato will also be driving in Indycar in 2019.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) has announced the extension of their current contract with the 41 year-old Japanese driver.

That will be his third season for the team, after having raced for them in 2012, including this current season.

Sato has time and time again proven that he is lighting fast, but sometimes he makes some bad decisions when being under pressure. He got that reputation already back in his Formula 1 time, and unfortunately keeps proving his critics right at regular occasions during his Indycar career.

But when everything goes right for Sato, he is up there at the front, like winning the 2017 Indy 500 race, and just 14 days ago, when he won at the circuit in Portland.

The team has confirmed that Graham Rahal also will continue with the team.

Sato has had 151 starts in Indycar since the debut in 2010, and other than his Indy and Portland wins, claimed a win on the streets in Long Beach. He managed to finish on the podium once in Formula 1 which, funnily enough, happened in Indianapolis back in 2004.

Takuma Sato currently sits 11th in the Verizon Indycar Series standings, before the season finale will be run later today.
