Another Ferrari is ready for the Asian Le Mans Series, which starts this weekend at Shanghai International Circuit.
Spirit of Race enters a Ferrari 488 GT3 in the well known red, white, green and blue colours.
The team consist of defending FIA World Endurance Championship GTE Pro Champion Alessandro Pier Guidi, who will be the cornerstone of the team. Ozz Negri Jr. will jump back in the drivers suit once more, while Francesco Piovanetti will be a new driver in the endurance sport.
Pier Guidi won the World Championship in 2017 together with James Calado, who will race for the opposition at the Carguy team.
Oswaldo Negri Jr. is the most experienced driver in the car. Ozz, which is what everybody knows him as, is 54 years old, and has been active in the sport for more than 30 years. He raced in the British Formula 3 in the late 80’s, before returning to South America. After some years in Indy Lights, he turned towards sportscar racing, where he became a long-time member of Michael Shank Racing. He raced for them full time until the end of 2017, and then chose to just do selected races in a Ferrari during 2018.
Piovanetti is the one bringing the money to the team. He has experience from Ferrari Challenge North America, where he has finished in third place in the Championship twice. He made his debut in motorsport in 2011, but his day job is being the president of Arco Capital, which is also visible on the car.
The Asian Le Mans Series 2018/19 consists of four rounds in China, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia.
