Rowland new Nissan driver

Oliver Rowland will be the new Nissan e.dams Formula E team driver in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19.

The Brit replaces Alexander Albon, who was originally announced earlier this year, but when Scuderia Toro Rosso called him, the Thai driver chose to jump on the Formula 1 wagon instead of Formula E.

Oliver Rowland was already testing the car in Valencia back in October, but has just been officially confirmed now.

Rowland has raced in Formula Renault 3,5 and GP2. He was part of the CEFC TRSM Racing team in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa and Le Mans earlier this year, but the future of the team is unknown, because they haven’t raced the cars since Le Mans in June, so it’s nice for him to have secured payment for the next 7-8 months.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19 starts on 15 December in Ad Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
