Porsche with two IMSA cars for the next three years

Porsche Motorsport has announced their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship programme for 2019.

It was also confirmed, that the contract with CORE autosport, to run the two Porsche 911 RSR’s in the GTLM category, has been extended for three more years.

Nick Tandy and Patrick Pilet will continue in car #911, with the added help by Fred Makowiecki during Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans.

#912 keeps Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber as the full season drivers, while Mathieu Jaminet will be added at the longer races.

The team claimed three victories in 2018, with a victory at Sebring and Road Atlanta as the highlight, plus the victory in Mid-Ohio. A further five podiums were captured during the 11-race GTLM season.

The two cars will do the first official testing, prior to the Daytona 24 Hours, in a month time.
