Moorespeed will be a new GTD team in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship during the upcoming season.
The team has opted to by an Audi R8 LMS GT3, which will run number 19 on the doors.
Will Hardeman and Alex Riberas will share the car throughout the season, while they will be joined by Andrew Davis at the four Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, while the Audi super driver Markus Winkelhock is in for the 24 hours race at Daytona.
The team got a good deal from Magnus Racing, and then got an upgrade kit for the car from Audi, so they are up to the latest spec.
The plan was originally to only participate at the sprint rounds of the IMSA championship in a Porsche, but with the acquiring of the Audi, it’s become possible to do the full season.
The team are doing their laps on the track today, where a Michelin tire test is run at the Daytona track. Hardeman, Riberas and Davis are in the car, while Winkelhock will gets his first laps for the team during the ROAR test at the start of January.
