Scuderia Corsa are ready for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with four drivers, with three new faces in the team.
The team will still have Cooper MacNeil as the central point, who is the son of the WeatherTech company owner. So the team will once again run in WeatherTech colours on the Ferrari 488 GT3.
He has opted to hire Toni Vilander for the full 2019 season. That is at least how the team will start. Last year, it was planned for Alessandro Balzan to do the full season – that only went until the summer time, and then he was removed from the car.
MacNeil uses a lot of teams, cars and not the least, teammates. He has had a whole bunch of teammates throughout the years – and it went all crazy in the 2017, where he raced both a Mercedes and a Porsche during the season, since he thought the BOP for Mercedes wasn’t as favourable, and then just switched to the other.
They have hired Dominik Farnbacher and Jeff Westphal as helpers for the 24 Hours at Daytona.
The 2019 season of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship starts on 26-27 January.
