Indycar announces new title sponsor

When the 2019 season starts in St. Petersburg 10 March, the Indycar series will have a new title sponsor.

In a multiyear agreement, the new name will be NTT IndyCar Series. The deal includes sponsoring at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500 plus Brickyard 400.

The company has been sponsoring Chip Ganassi Racing for the past two seasons, where their logos has been present on Scott Dixon’s car. Dixon won the championship in 2018, and their deal has also been extended to cover Felix Rosenqvist’s car – the new teammate for Dixon.

Indycar has had several title sponsors over the years, since the series started in 1996. It’s been known as Verizon Indycar Series during the later years – a sponsor that was present on Will Power’s Team Penske car. Verizon did however announce, that they didn’t want to extend their original 5-year deal with the series that ended in 2018.
