RLR MSport hires former Formula 1 driver

The European Le Mans Series team RLR MSport has really caught a big fish in the net.

The newly crowned 2018 Champions in LMP3 bought an ORECA 07 LMP2 car during last fall, with John Farano being one of the championship winning drivers.

Farano will be part of the line-up as well, and was also part of crew testing the car.

The team has signed a deal with the former Formula 1 driver, Bruno Senna, who will race 5 out of 6 rounds. Senna won’t be part of the line-up at the 4 hours of Silverstone, where the ELMS and the FIA World Endurance Championship will both be run on the same weekend. So the 35 year-old driver either already has a FIA WEC deal for 2019/20 or very close at signing one.

Senna has already proven his speed in the car model, in which he won the LMP2 Championship in the FIA World Endurance Championship 2017 with the Rebellion team.

The third driver will be announced in due course.

They won a 24 Hours of Le Mans ticket by securing the LMP3 title – but they won’t be joined by Senna at that race either, since he will be racing for Rebellion Racing in their LMP1 car.

Job van Uitert and Rob Garofall were the two co-drivers for Farano in 2018. But the team has run other drivers, and certainly need an additional Gold, Platinum or a very very good Silver ranked driver as the third wheel, to be at the top of the category.
