The livery comes as a bit of surprise given the lack of traditional Aprilia colour portions, mainly the lack of the under-fairing being sectioned off in Aprilia red with the Aprilia logo to match but overall it looks very fresh. The Italian Tricolore segments its way over the fairing and seat stay and cuts like a razor blade through fuel tank and sides of the fairing thought the rider leathers look a touch uninspired. Nevertheless when the rider is sat on the bike it will appear to be a much more aesthetically pleasing package.

Testing in Qatar has gone steadily for Aprilia, definitely showing signs of being a regular top ten bike, they have lacked a little bit of pace compared to the KTM’s, who have managed to break into the 1:54’s which Aprilia have yet to do. Though at the time of writing this, the final session in Qatar is still underway so that may be subject to change. Whether or not this pace deficit in testing amounts to a deficit on a competitive track remains to be discovered, but so far, everything appears to be going smoothly, with test rider Bradley Smith testing setups and logging laps on prototype hardware in lieu of the season ahead.
