Toyota Gazoo Racing have confirmed their FIA World Endurance Championship 2019/20 plans today.
The Japanese team with base in Germany will once again start with two TS050 Hybrid in the World Championship, just like they have done since 2012.
5 of the 6 drivers will be back with the team.
Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima, Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria Lopez and Mike Conway are all back in the cars, while they will be joined by Brendon Hartley as their new teammate. Hartley replaces Fernando Alonso, who has chosen to end his FIA WEC career after the Le Mans race 2019. The press release states that he will continue inside the Toyota family, which very well could be the Dakar Rally, where he already has tested a car.
The final combinations in the two cars will be announced at a later stage.
Toyota Gazoo Racing can secure the World Championship titles this weekend, at the 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, in case they get the expected 1-2 finish, combined with the results for their competitors, going their way.
