It will be some very colourful Porsche cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019.
The four factory cars and Team Project 1 #56 will be running different designs compared to the rest of the season.
Porsche #91 and #92 are celebrating that they have already clinched the World Championship titles in both Manufactures and Drivers (although it isn’t decided if #91 og #92 wins), by adding gold stripes to the cars. Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen in #92 are just two points away from being able to call themselves World Championship, so a lot has to go wrong for the defending Le Mans winners. But motorsport can be cruel at times, so they have to cross the line after 24 hours to be sure.
The two American Porsches will run in the Brumos colours, just like they did at Daytona and Sebring in the IMSA Championship. At Le Mans they will run #93 and #94.
Team Project 1 #56 will run a very special design by Richard Phillips. There is a great tradition to run Art Cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with teams like MW, Aston Martin, Larbre Competition and Flying Lizard Motorsport having done so too in the past.
You could almost say that the Mentos car has gotten candy colours…
The colours on the 4 Dempsey-Proton Racing/Proton Competition cars haven’t been revealed just yet, but will be out in public this Sunday morning, when the test day will be run, ahead of the race in two weeks’ time.
