When the Asian Le Mans Series gets underway once again in November 2019, there will be a new brand in the LMP3 category.
So far we have only had Ginetta, ADESS and especially Ligier, but now we are going to have at least one Norma chassis running.
The British team Nielsen Racing will bring a Norma M 30, but they are working on getting a second car on the grid as well.
The team already knows the Asian LMS, where they raced two cars under the Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen banner. That was was Ligier JS P3 versions.
They are running a split programme in the current European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup seasons, with Colin Noble and Tony Wells racing Norma in both series, while their second car in the ELMS is a Ligier.
The team haven’t announced any drivers yet, but anything other than a Noble/Wells combo would be a bit of a surprise, since their collaboration works really well, currently sitting sixth in the ELMS and third in the LMC points standings respectively.
The Asian Le Mans Series 2019/20 starts on 24 November in Shanghai, China.
