Carguy are ready for the upcoming Asian Le Mans Series season.
The Japanese team, located close to Fuji International Speedway, are the defending champions in the Asian series, where they won four out of four races during the 2018/19 season, and therefore winning an entry to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team finished 5th out of 16 entered cars, which was a really good debut for them.
The team will be supported by AF Corse, who will run the yellow Ferrari 488 GT3.
Team owner Takeshi Kimura will once again be in the car as the Bronze rated driver, while Kei Cozzolino will be team boss and co-driver again. They will have a yet unnamed Ferrari works driver with them in the car. They were joined by James Calado last year, who gave the car a lot of speed and stability throughout most of the season. There was one race where he picked up some unnecessary penalties, but they still managed to scrape through and win the race.
Their aim is to retain the title, and return to Le Mans in 2020, and because of that goal, Cozzolino has decided to participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship season for MR Racing, so he will have more knowledge of the 488 GTE model, which is used at the Le Mans circuit, instead of their GT3 model in Asia.
The Asian Le Mans Series 2019/20 starts on 24 November 2019, with the 4 Hours of Shanghai.
