Aston Martin Racing has found the replacement for Paul Dalla Lana at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, which will be run next weekend.
The Canadian racer has been a fixed part of the AMR outfit for many years, but was unlucky to get injured on a skiing trip, resulting in him missing both the ROAR test two weeks ago, and the 24 hour race in one weeks time.
He should however be back in the car for the FIA World Endurance Championship round at COTA in one months time.
His seat in the AMR #98 for the Daytona race will be taken by Andrew Watson. Watson is a junior driver at AMR, and this will be his first big endurance race. He will share the car with Pedro Lamy, Mathias Lauda and Ross Gunn. Lamy, Lauda and Dalla Lana was a fixed pairing in the FIA WEC for many years, until Gunn and Darren Turner replaced them for this current season.
AMR #98 won’t be the only Aston Martin Vantage GT3 on track, since Heart of Racing also participates in the GTD category.
The Rolex 24 at Daytona, which is also the season opener for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2020, will be run on 25 and 26 January 2020.
