Braun in three more IMSA races

Colin Braun will be racing three more IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races in 2020.

He raced for DragonSpeed at the Daytona 24 Hours, but that was a single race deal. And he won’t the do the three races at Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta for DragonSpeed.

He will instead race for Era Motorsport, who is competing against the before mentioned team. The two teams were originally slated to work together this year, but Era Motorsport chose to run the ORECA 07 Gibson LMP2 car by themselves.

The deal makes it a Braun double. Colin’s dad, Jeff, is doing the strategic work on the car, and he was hired just two weeks prior to the race – and post the ROAR test in January.

Braun junior will share the car with team owner Kyle Tilley plus Dwight Merriman, who will do the full IMSA season together.

But there is still a lot of room in the calendar for Colin Braun in 2020, so we might see him in other racing cars – but probably not the IMSA series. But FIA WEC teams are always on the hunt for lightning-fast drivers, with a large sportscar experience.
