Hörr in, DHH out

Laurents Hörr will have his FIA World Endurance Championship debut this weekend at COTA.

The 20 year-old German racing driver replaces David Heinemeier Hansson at Team Project 1 Porsche #56, where he will drive together with  Egidio Perfetti and Matteo Cairoli.

Hörr won the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2019 in the LMP3 category for DKR Engineering, and has already been confirmed to race with them again, in their upcoming European Le Mans Series in the LMP3 category.

The collaboration between DHH and Team Project 1 got off to a bad start since the very beginning. The ELMS debut race in Barcelona 2019 saw Heinemeier Hansson having an off, losing the team a lot of time in the pits. He had to stay home at the FIA WEC debut at Silverstone, due to his wife giving birth on that exact weekend. He did race with the team at Fuji, Shanghai and Bahrain, but will end now, after just four races in the Porsche 911 RSR model.

DHH will instead do a bit of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Tower Motorsport by Starworks in the LMP2 category, in the longer 12, 6 and 10 hour races remaining. The debut at the Daytona 24 Hours ended in fourth place.

Egidio Perfetti and Matteo Cairoli are currently sitting 10th in the GTE Am standings for drivers, with a single Pole Position next to their name at Shanghai, claimed by Perfetti and Cairoli.

Team Project 1 and Egidio Perfetti are the reigning FIA WEC GTE Am Champions. A title they won with Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Lindsey.

The 6 Hours at the Circuit Of The Americas near Austin in Texas will be run this Sunday 23 February, starting 19.00 CET.
